To grip one thing too tightly is to let all else slip through your fingers. A captain who gazes only at the stars may not notice the reef rising beneath him, nor hear the cries of his passengers as the ship splits and the sea swallows their dreams. Focus is noble, dear reader, but fixation is folly.

A self-help book need not dazzle with prose, just as a life raft need not be beautiful to keep you afloat. A clumsy sentence, like a misshapen key, may still unlock the grandest of doors. And if the door refuses to open? Perhaps it was never meant to keep you out - but to trap lesser minds within.

A great man takes responsibility for how he is seen, for he knows that perception shapes the world more than truth. A lesser man blames the viewer, as though he is a blank slate untouched by the ink of his own actions.
