On November 1, 1755, All Saints' Day, a massive #earthquake with M > 7.7 struck SW off-coast #Lisbon, Portugal. Many of the city's 250,000 inhabitants were attending church when the tremors began, causing buildings to collapse, trapping thousands inside. ⚒️🧪
