Isn’t taxing corporations and expecting them to absorb some of the tax a pretty leftist economic philosophy? I know Dems have for the most part become pretty centrist economically, but I feel like raising taxes on corporations has long been a talking point of Sanders, Warren, and AOC.

Historically when the far right candidate wins it doesn’t move the opposition to the left. There are plenty of young Bernie Sanders types out there that aren’t getting airtime because they are seen as fringe.

I’m not defending him, but in the same quote he justifies why they should be able to compete. It’s a bad quote, but I think the move to center and both-sides-ism is not only because the $ the state needs, but setting himself up for a presidential run in 2028.

I would really like to know what methodology she is using. She says there is data for 60 years of DEI initiatives and now that data is gone. Makes me think she was using government data, but would really like to know what she (or the agency she was evaluating) defines as a “DEI initiative”.
