Perhaps this is my own professional downfall but just sticking-to-the-knitting and doing a good job would, eventually, deter the critics.

I have my own views on the news; mainly that both-sideism is a lose/lose and I think a lot of the BBC’s problems are a lack of confidence in their own convictions l.

I think it’s important the BBC doesn’t care about the ramifications and sticks to accurate reporting.
If anyone wants to fight it in court BBC should back its focus on the truth to win

Yeah. My view is:
1) bbc is not govt so, who cares. They embarrass govts on the reg.
2) he usually loses and I see no reason why this would be different
3) if it’s this existential it’s worth paying the lawyers

I guess Britain is so collectively America-brained (am probably guilty of this) that they think the sovereign broadcaster is somehow entwined with the govt of another state?

(I should add, in case people get the wrong idea - I went to a state school. I just happened to be in all the same classes as a now Tory MP……except for maths and science, which were streamed *ahem* not their strong suit)
