His ALIEN adaption is really, REALLY good.

Chinatown and Rosemary’s Baby are two of my faves. But I’d personally push Polanski into oncoming traffic if I ever saw him.

Same for Mel Gibson and to a lesser extent David Mamet.

Quentin Tarantino now joins that small group.

Best Jackie Chan movie probably. Definitely NOT best martial arts movie ever.

I don’t think there IS a best martial arts movie but if there is Sammo Hung’s PRODIGAL SON has to be in the running.

I get peoples love for this movie as it was their first exposure to Jackie Chan. But my favorite JC movie is the one he made right before this one: DRUNKEN MASTER II.

It has Ti Lung, Anita Mui (RIP) and the legendary Lau Kar Leung. I think it might have the best end fight of any of his movies.

My son and I did a rewatch of WEL for this past Halloween and damn does it hold up. There’s one scene near the end when the brother is in the car and what he sees on the road ahead?

I unironically love this movie. My dad’s girlfriend took me when I was either 11 or 12. I’ve owned it on VHS, DVD and BluRay.
