It's a fantastic program. Especially being able to split it. I (m) took the last several weeks of the joint allotment when my partner received a great job offer. We've had this here for over 20 years now.

Slight correction. Parental leave is up to 61 weeks for an indivdual or up to 69 combined if split between two parents. It's typically 40. Can apply to adoption as well. Separate from 15 weeks Maternity Leave which is specific to someone who has given birth.

Kind of what I thought. Similar to the "come be a province" thing. In reality we'd have to amend our constitution, which is a huge big deal with lots of issues and agendas.

Oh and you should see the campaigning to replace him as Liberal leader. Each of them is like "no I'll stand up to Trump harder". They arguing over who gets to put him in his place while making him think it was his idea.
