I'll be signing copies of my Ice Age Trail novel, The Freakin' Destination, at the annual Central Wisconsin Book Festival's Local Author Fair this Saturday, 9/27, 8:00-9:30 a.m. at the Portage County Public Library, downtown Stevens Point. If you're heading to farmers market, stop by & say hi!

October means #MammothHikeChallenge on the #iceagetrail. Hike 45 miles, visit 3 trail towns, discover the Badger State. Or, just read about it in my novel, The Freakin' Destination. But for safety's sake, don't do both at the same time like this knucklehead below. Visit thebumblepoint.com for more.

Fellow Cheeseheads! Stop on over to Point Beach State Forest near Two Rivers, WI, on Saturday, September 6 for Authorfestaramapalooza! I'll be among several terrific authors there, chatting about this spectacular land of wonder, and signing copies of my Ice Age Trail novel, The Freakin' Destination.

Having our roof redone all day today. (Tomorrow too.) Sounds like London during the Blitz. The cat is freaked, I have a headache. Ahh, for the good old days - last week - depicted below.

If you had to pick the one song you've heard more than any other, what would it be?

Mine? "More Than a Feeling." Which is sad, because it's pretty middling.

I'm heading up to the Home of the Hodag this Tuesday, 7/29 to chat live with Up North at 4 about Wisconsin's Ice Age Trail, and the novel it inspired me to write. Tune in to Rhinelander's WJFW Channel 12 at 4:00 p.m. CDT.

Hoping it goes more smoothly than my last trip up there, pictured below!

I hope to see lots of you at Stevens Point’s Riverfront Rendezvous Market this Friday, July 4. I’ll be signing copies of my novel, The Freakin’ Destination, and offering survival tips for hiking the Ice Age Trail. Including which country taverns to visit, and to avoid, on the CRs.

On this day in 1944, my Uncle Willie Bie (shown here) landed on a beach in Normandy to help defeat the Nazis. Here's to his memory, and to those he served with who didn't make it back home.

I am psyched about next week's Ice Age Trail Annual Conference, where I will be giving a talk about my hiking novel, The Freakin' Destination, on Friday. If you're in Wisconsin for the conference, I'd love to have you stop by. Beach casual attire is suggested.😜

I finished the 5-mile Point Bock Run yesterday, despite having trashed a hamstring skiing the Birkebeiner last weekend. Took it easy, listened to my body, and made it to the finish without any lasting damage (I hope!). #runchat

Tough but enjoyable ski today on the Razorback Ridges Trails near Sayner, WI, just up the road from St. Germain. Took a wrong turn onto the aptly-named Long Rider loop, turning a 6-mile workout into 11 miles. Birkie fever is feeling more like Birkie flu tonight!
