Updated Thunderstorm Risk:
The threat for severe weather remains low, but some lower level wind "shear" (spin in the air) may be enhanced along the warm front Thursday morning. This elevates the risk for an isolated damaging wind or even a brief, weak spin-up tornado.

TONIGHT - THURSDAY:

A warm front will bring milder air into the Mid-Atlantic, allowing for heavier rain to develop. Low pressure will move to our north on Thursday, dragging a cold front through the area with heavy rain and a few storms. Late day clearing is expected.

We had perfect weather for the start of the Maryland Folk Festival! Much of the weekend should be fine with cooler temps arriving. A sprinkle or light shower is possible Sunday afternoon, but the chance is low.

SATURDAY EVENING: A severe thunderstorm watch is up for parts of Delmarva. Storms are expected into the evening ahead of a strong cold front. Damaging wind gusts are the primary risk, but isolated flooding is also possible due to the dry ground from the lack of rain over the past several weeks.
