Innovation, econ, politics, cities, net 0, social mobility. Bikes, music, comedy, beer, running. English/Brit/European, 23% Germanic, 7% Scot, 4% Scandi, 2% Irish, 1% Northern Italy. Maybe.
It seems so. Here we again. Yet another BBC piece that seems to think you can travel 'to Europe' from the UK. I'm not sure which continent these BBC reporters think they live in. It really is quite basic and ignorant.

@economist.com Another piece that reads like posh schoolboy snobbery & gossip, with little analysis. No recall, for example, of Thatcher's uninspired early months. Zero mention of slack Cameron, Johnson & Sunak's lack of managerial skills, appropriate economic insight or growth vision for all the UK

@economist.com Which definition of 'middle class' are you referring to here, the dated misleading UK on (which really means upper privileged class, eg the 7% attending private schools, having multiple international holidays each year, with 'help' at home, etc), or the American/rest of world meaning?

@robmayor.bsky.social You state this, but don't give any stats or other evidence to back it up? What's the source? What questions have been asked in surveys? Phrased how? What's the experience in 'rural' areas before and after a directly elected mayor? And what were the circumstances?

Erm, the majority of popular Internet content *is* controlled by a few private companies and business barons! This was spot on. We likely have dominant private monopolies or oligopolies in search, social media, advertising, server storage, telecoms, media streaming, news, etc. Google? Amazon? Etc.
