Some pleasant playwriting news:
My play "Jacob and Ebenezer: A Love Story" will have a staged reading at the GoggleWorks Boscov Theatre in #ReadingPA at 7 p.m. Dec. 11, directed by the wonderful John Gancar. If you are in the area, I hope you can make it.

In 2023 I wrote a short play in the Japanese Noh style for a writing challenge. After many revisions, I'm pleased to announce:
In 2026 "Banshee," now a five-act play (you read that right) will be the first full-length play of mine to get a production.

Inspired by a post from @aoifeb.bsky.social — and with apologies to her and the UCD folklore collection — here's my poem in honor of the day.

On this, the Bard's birthday, it's worth noting that I have written THREE plays inspired by Shakespeare (though they haven't been produced nearly as often as his).

THREE LEAD CHARACTERS (AS THEY'D LIKE IT): Tybalt and Laertes meet in the afterlife. newplayexchange.org/script/27296...

My March reading apparently consisted of meditation, activism and murder. Not necessarily in that order.

In three days this insane piece of theater, dreamed up by 4 incredibly talented actors and me, makes its debut. I had a blast creating 'Made-Up Stories About My Ancestors' with this incredible team.

Watching "The Wizard of Oz" and I can't keep the LOTR references away.
Nor would I want to.

Shameless self-promotion post: During October I'll be teasing Halloween-ish plays. "Braining on Empty" is the first play I wrote involving zombies. As you can see from this excerpt, I believe that the lack of living tissue is no reason not to be polite.

In 2022, I visited Ireland and took a bunch of photos of plants and animals. They didn't make it into the albums I shared with friends and family, so I'm posting them here periodically. Hope you like them.

fun with unproduced play posters: Plato has found a way to give his teacher the gift of immortality, but Socrates is not impressed.
"What Was I Saying?" is a four-person, 10-minute comedy. Script is on New Play Exchange:
