Some years back a bicyclist collided with and killed a pedestrian on a trail near where I live. The city responded by dropping the trail speed limit from 15mph to 10mph. I think it would be great if we did something similar with car traffic.

Seattle has always been kind of a one company town. A long time ago it was Weyerhaeuser. Then it was Boeing. Then it was Microsoft. Now it's Amazon.

I'm retired now, but when I was working, I bike commuted through many rainy Seattle winters. Sometimes the weather seemed bad even with the best clothes, but I carried on, confident in the fact that I am not made of sugar and will not melt.

I upgraded my iPhone 11 when the iPhone 15 came out. I was motivated by the switch from the Lightening connector (which no one else used) to the USB-C connector (which everyone else uses).

I've considered doing this, but since bicycles are notoriously "invisible" to drivers, I worry that someone will just pull into the parking space without thinking.

Good reason to bike or take transit to the protest.

I think wielrenner should replace cyclist in the above. To me a cyclist is anyone who rides a bicycle, but I get the fietser/wielrenner contrast. Why is it that some folks who ride bicycles really seem to hate the word cyclist?

I think "excellent" may be an over statement, but Rad provided a practical, entry level cargo bike at an attractive price point. Lots of e-cargo bike riders started out on a Rad bike, and many are still riding it.

One of my enduring memories of Halloween in the 1960s is how little parents were involved in our Halloween activities.

Glad I haven’t ridden STP lately. I no longer pay much attention to WA Bikes endorsements.

I’d be happy if Amtrak simply supported loading and unloading checked baggage in Wenatchee. Then I could bring my bicycle along. Lots of interesting riding over there.

Not owning a car is how I afford Seattle rents. Multiple policy failures here.

As a retired person, being car free is how I afford Seattle rents.

I prefer:
Work to eat.
Eat to live.
Live to ride.
Rice to work.

I can afford Seattle rents on Social Security only because I got ride of my car. Even owning a car and not using it is expensive. Insurance, licensing, and the fact that it's slowly rotting as it sits out in the rain day after day.

They're a little annoying if you want to make a right turn out of the bike lane.

He's also a very good rider. Picked the best line possible under the circumstances and held to it expertly. What an awesome kid.

When I was a teenager in the 1960s, we said, "Never trust anyone over 30." In all the decades since I've yet to encounter anything that proves this wrong.

I do nearly all my grocery shopping on a non-cargo bike. Cargo bikes are very useful, but I push back on the idea that you need one in order to do transportation cycling.

I like to say that bicycles sometimes slow down cars, but cars slow down everyone all the time.

I'm quite confident riding my bicycle to downtown locations. Unfortunately I'm far less confident of locking it up and finding it unmolested several hours later.

My preferred act of political resistance is not even owning a car.

I moved into an apartment not far from your starting point a year ago. I don't drive, but I bike and walk, and I think about this a lot.

A lot of homes were built for a climate that never existed. Climate change makes things worse, but the problem was always there.
