Madonna moreso. Working with producers who had shaped the underground sound of a couple of years previously and taking it into the top 10. That was the Beatles / George Martin way. Blur were usually just rebelling against the sound of their last album.

I think he moved to America for a while. Yeah, he had great advert pedigree and Grange Hill but not sure what else. His turn on the Sausage on a Fork podcast is a good listen, if I recall!

Same here. Remember watching it in the cinema and bought the DVD a year later. There was a lot of hype as it was Katie Holmes’ first film, but she’s blown away by others, particularly Des Askew (ex Grange Hill) and a really clever script.

I bought it for a quid in Dundee’s The Works back in 1999. Was pleased to be able to read pictorial versions of Saint Simon Stylites skits from way back in the Lionel Nimrod days as well as checking out tribute acts like the Zimbabwean Joy Division.
