The asylum system and asylum seekers are not dividing the country but the rhetoric around it is. This does not help

I’ve often made this argument. The 70s is the schrodingers decade of the right. They can use to fit any of their arguments. It’s up there with champagne socialism or politics of envy depending on the income of the person they’re challenging

I’ve done exactly the same. I’ve supported labour all my adult life and was hoping for real change after years of greed and incompetence. But lines have been crossed this week. It’s so disappointing
