I know. I was curious about the pic (the banding looks like what I’ve seen on recent Iberian birds).I remember seeing them years ago in a flock that probably represented half the wild population at the time.

Interesting. First thought was individual on left was a snow bunting, then saw where photographed. This would farther south than expected and way early. The others are immature/winter Indigo buntings.

Sandhill cranes, Canada geese, Cassin’s vireo, western wood peewee, pileated woodpecker, osprey, bald eagle, raven, pine siskins and r. w blackbirds. The world is rich if you take a moment to look and listen. (And this was just as I was having dinner and savouring a glass of Okanagan white.)

For me it was when I hit 0. Can’t remember a day without birding. Presently watching sapsuckers, a hairy, a downy, r.c. kinglets, w. tanager, g.b. heron, r.b. nuthatches, mountain and b.c. chickadees, warbling vireo, song sparrow, robin and a turkey vulture while I can hear in the distance.. 1/2
