I present the “octopus tree”!
This Hackberry tree was struck by lightening a number of years ago, and The Arboretum staff elected to leave it
- and nature demonstrated its resilience and the tree continued to thrive.
In a month it will vanish into a shrub form until the fall.
#ArboretumGuelph

If the sky isn’t cloudy, Southwestern Ontario will be where to be to watch the Total Solar Eclipse today.
We’ll be at a medical appt for the kiddo at 2pm and hope all will be solved before Totality blacks out Guelph!
