Project 2025 one step closer to completion because corporate media continues to not stand up to these threats. We will have no free press, no freedom of expression, and likely no ability to change directions via the voting booth. I cannot believe how fast this country has caved to authoritarianism

Do they just sit around all day and think of the most disgusting ways to further debase the office of the president while making our country an embarrassment to the rest of the world instead of, you know, governing?

This needs to be on a t-shirt. It would sell like faster than hotcakes...or Subway Clubs

Didn't even open the article. No one cares what they think now or what they thought then. They were fools to think this guy would do anything but bring the destruction he's brought upon our country. Hopefully they'll just stay home and play Call of Duty instead of voting next time.

Disgusting ruling. This conservative SCOTUS either fails to see that they are enabling an authoritarian or they just no long believe in our system of government that requires checks and balances. An executive with integrity will likely not take take abusive advantage of these rulings in the future.

Having flown business and premium economy recently on long-haul flights, I will say premium economy is more about not being abusively uncomfortable in cattle car. I remember average economy seat pitch in the 1980s was what premium is today. Airlines border on cruelty with economy seats these days.

Gawd, WaPo, can you stop with the euphemistic use of words like "overhaul" in place of "destroy, disrupt, dismantle?" Overhaul takes on the connotation that this is an action meant to examine and repair something that is broken, when this is clearly just destruction for the sake of destruction.

The poor financials of late night television may be a fact, this is not just an unfortunate coincidence. CBS could have handled this is a million different. This timing was absolutely intentional in order to "kill two birds with one stone." Shame on CBS for lack of integrity or courage.

Stock market getting too expensive for family & friends again. Time to buy that dip. He's becoming predictable, yet Wall Street follows his lead every time. Eventually that decoupling of financial markets from reality is going to end and things will get ugly fast for all of us.

Miller always reminds me of Jonathan Banks' evil thug character in Beverly Hills Cop. Except Banks was acting (and he's an awesome actor)...Miller is a real life villian.

Cool. So, what's this guy's point? Maybe he wants to abolish the NWS and they can go back to the good old days of no weather forecasts all. "Oh look, I'm being swept away by flood waters" That'll be the extent of your wx forecasting. More likely, he's trying to deflect for not being prepared.

Unfortunately, despite being the world's richest nation, our happiness index in American continues to plummet. I believe the untenable wealth disparity has a lot to do with that.

No system of government is perfect. Best practices will still result in unintended consequences that we then must deal with. Still, the fact that Scandinavia has, by just about every measure, the level of general happiness means something must be going right.

But instead of seeing where their model could apply here, a significant percentage of our populace will continue to melt down anytime they hear the term social democracy. Sadly, they've been conditioned to that response.

It is not by chance that the four Nordic countries consistently appear at the top of the pack for quality of life as well as the Freedom Index. Yes, they are smaller, perhaps less complex societies than the US, but we could stand to learn a lot from them.

Dumb lead-in WSJ. Those are certainly not their only two options. The article itself makes that clear.
June 22, 2025 at 6:41 PM
The article's weak argument that this can bring the public closer to our military members collapses under the stench this administration brings to the cause like nominating an unserious person as SECDEF and erasing historical contributions by minorities to our nation's defense. It's a giant farce.

Is it a requirement to be an a$$hole in order to get your charter license in Florida? I've seen too many stories of people like this on the water abusing wildlife, other fishermen, and they always turn out to be "charter boat captains"

is that your expert opinion or just social media blather?

Screw him They should absolutely ignore his letter. If the administration tries to get withhold grants, just another lawsuit for DoJ to attempt to defend against. The scientific community has the ability to police itself with rigorous peer reviews. They don’t need the goon squad to lord over them.

Not only is it dangerous, it’s a massive waste of taxpayer dollars to research prevention for this disease when one already exists. All to pander to the anti-vax community.
