Any company worth working for will accept a "I'm really sorry but I'm too ill today to do an interview today, can we please re-arrange?" call and re-arrange.

Why does Musk creating a company in the UK make our country corrupt? No fan of Musk but what you're claiming seems a bit of a stretch!

I'd question the logic of rewriting it from scratch. Why not refactor it gradually? That way you can move from working version to working version without the risk of it all falling apart. You could therefore refactor it in, say, Rust and use interop to interface new and old bits.

I think this is normal. I use maths in my job every single day and I don't think numbers have values to me anymore, they're just symbols that are part of a rich and complex language.

Actually, this doesn't appear to be a reposting of a Tweet so maybe it's not the BBC who got it wrong

MI5 not M15, come on BBC, this isn't good enough!

That was a bit mean of you

I think I'd like my pints to be pints and not glasses of 20ml

Clearly it isn't a very good editor as it hasn't highlighted the bug....

Religions like to take over these things to appear caring and to detract from all the suffering they are responsible for, including many wars

I presume this is the all time list of *worst* British songwriters? You don't say but that must be what you mean

I often find myself panicking, frantically searching for my phone, thinking I've lost it, whilst it is in my hand

You shouldn't steal lollipops off children, it's very cruel, no matter how much you like them!

I knew nothing about Project 2025 really until I read this: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project... conclusion: that's very scary!

You can now just type what you want to run instead of searching through all those menus for it
November 24, 2024 at 11:29 AM
Not a fan of Windows _but_ just tapping the Windows key and then typing what I want to run is a really cool feature. They probably stole it off Macs but now Linux does it as well so we're all winners...

Yeah, misinformation (however it's spread) will always be a problem but hopefully misinformation about facts (about policies) will be easier to disprove? Maybe I'm just naively optimistic....

Yes and no, it was broken long before social media was a thing. Fundamentally, reducing all the complex choices necessary to run a country down to two personalities is doomed to fail. We should vote on policies not personalities.

Damn, you beat me to it!

'I'm not political' is too ambiguous in my opinion, it could mean "I'm not bothered about politics" or "I think the current political system is broken and I want something new".
