I was proud to march today against racism. Alongside @leedseurope.bsky.social I marched in the pro-European bloc on this impressive Stand Up To Racism march: “This is what Leeds looks like!”

Brexit was a Faragist / racist project and I & my friends in Leeds for Europe have fought it for 8+ years. ✊

In #lille with @leedseurope.bsky.social we are experiencing a vibrant French political scene, as their government teeters on the brink of collapse & a range of parties set out their case for the anticipated General Election. Uncertain & divided times, but the engagement of the people is undeniable.

It’s been great to meet up with some European Green politicians on our visit to Lille, including Leader of the French Green Party @marinetondelier.fr, MEP @melissacamara.bsky.social and candidate for Mayor of Lille, @stefbaly.bsky.social. All have given us an amazing welcome to France!

It’s a pleasure to once again join my @leedseurope.bsky.social friends on this year’s trip to Leeds’ twin city of Lille. We are reaching out the hand of international friendship as well as experiencing the incredible Braderie - Europe’s largest flea market. @leedscitycouncil.bsky.social

I’ve been out today with Green Party Councillor Ros Brown speaking to #Ilkley residents about the local issues that matter to them. Frustration at closure of Ilkley’s tip and concerns with parking permits top the list. We need more Green Councillors to take up these issues on behalf of local people.

A glorious day for campaigning for the Green Party in beautiful #Ilkley with Green Councillor Ros Brown. She is so hard working for Ilkley & Ben Rhydding. We need more like her! @bradfordgreens.bsky.social

After a agonisingly slow series ended in a sudden and far-fetched bloodbath has The White Lotus now “jumped the shark”? #whitelotus

Over 7 in 10 EU citizens believe that their country has benefited from being a member of the EU. This is the highest result ever recorded in a Eurobarometer survey for this question since it was first asked.

Why on earth is the UK still excluded from this? 🇪🇺

'It is “a bit embarrassing” when Leeds’ Dortmund Square is compared with its German equivalent, Platz von Leeds in Dortmund.' We have called on Leeds City Council to 'make more of an effort to celebrate Dortmund Square, beginning with the installation of street signs.'

@europeanmovement.co.uk CEO & former Minister Sir Nick Harvey giving the closing address to the European Movement conference: “Brexit has proven to be far worse than Project Fear… With the hole blown in the economy by Brexit where is the growth going to come from if we don’t join the Single Market?”

Insightful session on youth attitudes and the impact of the loss of European mobility on Britain’s young people. Thanks to @madeleinakay.bsky.social & Dorothy Herson of Young European Movement for sharing ideas on how to attract the next generation to join the struggle for our European future. 🇪🇺

Caroline Lucas at the @europeanmovement.co.uk conference: “From an environmental point of view Brexit has been the disaster that many of us predicted it would be.”

I’m at the Grassroots Conference of @europeanmovement.co.uk, of which I am proud to be Vice Chair. Hearing Co-President Dominic Grieve speaking about the threats to European peace & security which are clearly facing us all. There has rarely been a greater need for a mass European Movement. 🇪🇺🇬🇧

It has been a honour to lead @leedseurope.bsky.social for the last 8 years, having been a founding member of this wonderful group. I am delighted now to have passed the baton to a worthy successor, Leeds for Europe’s new Chair, @leedsblue67.bsky.social. I will continue as a supportive member!

I have written to the Ilkley Gazette about local Tory MP Robbie Moore's attack on Jess Phillips: "To say I am disappointed to see Mr Moore echo Elon Musk’s vicious attacks rather than stand in solidarity with one of his fellow elected MPs in the face of such intimidation is putting it mildly."

The British way to respond to Musk. Bravo. 🇬🇧

I love this graph. I remember when people said it was fantasy to think that renewable energy could ever make a meaningful contribution to reducing CO2 emissions in the UK. Now, we have reduced consumption, eliminated coal burning for electricity & renewable sources have more than stepped up. 🙌

A really important step on the journey to restore the UK’s place in Europe took place last night with the launch of an All Party Parliamentary Group. Group Co-Chairs @drrosena.bsky.social and Lord Kirkhope spoke with passion & optimism about the opportunity that this new group represents.
