Hold on, you’ve got to be an exceptional coach to establish Brentford in the Premier league. Though I get why he’s not a good fit for Spurs

From the comms, it sounded like the cameo v Birmingham was better, but even so. That said, I guess Javi now has some trust back in the bank

Or as mentioned at the other place by I think Lou ‘Orns, the football god’s intervening when they saw Sissoko was starting?!

Hah, yeh in fairness, have a full non cricketing schedule too. Happy new year to you guys!

Thanks, off to Sydney for amongst other things, some cricket 😬

Listened in stunned disbelief whilst in Heathrow departures lounge. A Tom Ince hatrick, what on earth were the chances of predicting that?! Geoff Doyle and Derek Payne fulsome in praise of Javi’s influence on the team

Great photo and enjoy your posts, even the boom times had their periods of calamity & despair - the Iraq invasion and its aftermath for example, progress is never linear. Happy new year!

Thanks, I mean if people in different walks of life like us are obsessed with formations and patterns of play, for Javi & co, it’s their full time job, right 🤷‍♂️

And by extension, I’ve seen this phrase ‘uncoached’ being used again by Lou ‘Orns and to some extent you guys on the post Birmingham pod. That can’t literally be true? Or can it?!
December 10, 2025 at 2:18 PM
Hi lads, question for the next pod, Javi refers to him & his coaches arriving at training when it’s dark and leaving when it’s dark. Can you (Jordan?) give an insight into what their day looks like? Presumably only a small % of that time is on grass? They must deliberate on formations like we do?!

Would feel like karma if neither kid turned out to be academic

Instead, we’ll continue to have covert dependency on EU policy with no say … 🤦‍♂️

Does Steve Smith’s jibe against Archer actually apply to England under McCullum? They only turn up when the pressure is off? #AskGeorge

Too many of our batters are flat track bullies, only real exceptions being Root & Stokes.

The Labour Chancellor has delivered a Budget whose headroom is still small, and is based on a series of optimistic assumptions and tax rises in an election year, and your story is...litigating which one of the chess competitions in the 90s was the *real* under-14 champion? Really?

I get why he might not be a fit for Spurs but this coach established Brentford in the Premier league and helped develop some big name players like Olli Watkins, Toney, Mbuemo. Not the record of a plodder

If there is a project and it’s Blue Labour, then it’s even worse than being rudderless

As there’s been a number of exact same scenarios during the Baz-ball era, it’s hard to see them adapting now. Isn’t the old fashioned term for them ‘flat track bullies’?
