It is probably likely that the police will move them on because someone has reported them for “hanging around”

2) After this length of time it will be difficult now to remove them is they have established family life, work etc. if that is the case that is not the fault of the Starmer who are, at least, trying to regularise the position.

I I would say it is quite likely to be somewhere near true. It is a symptom of the fact that the Governments from 2010 to 2024 simply failed to monitor those staying irregularly and remove them or regularise their position.

The Single Market is not a club a country can join. it is a policy of the EU and to be in it the SM you have to be in the EU. The EU will not even consider EU membership while the likes of Reform are around. Starmer has done the limit of what is possible for a while

How many countries have a wealth tax, answer very few. I. Am not opposed to them but they will probably not yield as much as you may hope. And of course once it’s taxed it’s gone

Dear EU. We’d like our membership back, same terms as last time starting next week.? Do you really think it is that simple. To join again is by treaty which all the other members have to agree. It’s not happening for years

2) it now is the focus of a massive rejuvenation of the North Greenwich peninsula with more commercial developments coming in

1) It was a financial failure in the sense that it was set a target to pay back all the loans within 1 calender year. That was never going to be possible. So after one year it went under and was closed for a few years. An alternative funding plan was then devised and set it up and running.

I can remember when the Olympics, the Millennium Dome the Channel Tunnel and HS1 were all regarded as white elephants. They are now regarded as things it is inconceivable we could not have. Build HS2 including the Leeds and Lancs legs and while we are at it, send it to Glasgow

There has been no “policy on trans people” All that has happened is that the Supreme Court has ruled that there may (note may) be circumstances where it is appropriate to use “gender” to mean “biological gender”

Both formulations are equally good and comprehensible. The English language is probably Great Britain’s biggest gift to the world and it is great because it is flexible.

It may be an error to assume that trump moves logically. He has made money largely by bullying and it is his only strategy

An important point. Scepticism is an important part of scientific research “Nullus in Verbum” as it says over the door of the Royal Society. A lot of climate change science may be shown to have been overstated or wrong, but we go on the basis of careful evaluation not with hominem arguments
