As am I. The remake butchered the ending of the story. No consequences, no significance. Just atmosphere and empty "happy" people. A second remake will certainly be even worse.

When I was in high school in the early 1960s, there was really only one year that stood for the future -- 1984. It was gradually replaced in the late 60s by 2001. A few minutes after this year began I thought, what the fuck am I doing in 2026? It sounds like a stardate without the decimal part.
