I was recommended this place by someone else. Got here and found a lot of people I followed elsewhere. Hope to get reintroduced asap.
Conundrum. Do I put the washing out now so it gets the maximum time outside before it inevitably rains? Or do I spin it, lose the extra time, but it's a tiny bit drier when it goes out...?

Dear electronics manufacturers. Those tiny rubberised buttons you put on devices. The ones that always feel loose, you can't operate when wearing gloves, when you click them the angle's, wrong, so you click again then the display goes through two presses?
Hard, plastic clicky buttons exist. Thanks.

Retinopathy screening at the Victorian serial killer's house later. The time before that is looking at the clock, counting down the minutes until I have to set off, while half doing work.

I had Princess spread sandwiches for lunch for many years at school, depending on what was in the fridge at Sainsbury's. Usually, they were some form of meat paste. There was tuna and tomato(?) Didn't really taste of fish or tomato—no idea why I suddenly remembered that.

Got a filthy job to do this afternoon. I haven't worn my Wellingtons in... a while. Just tried them on. Sorry to the spiders that have taken up residence.

Insulin pump alarm went off sometime after 2 am. The sensor had failed. Saturday is sensor change, so fine. Put it on to recharge, and I'd swap it at the usual time. There were continuous alarms every 30 minutes.

Listening to a video essay on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
Someone typed "Give me the most pretentious summary of the book for a 26-minute video." Then fed it into an AI voice generator.
Yeah... thanks, no, also, the creepy AI video... 😬

Bad frost last night. There were a couple of errands I was going to run.
WAS.
Yeah, thanks, no.

There was an out-of-context potato on the bin outside the entrance to Morrisons. It was there on the way in and out.
I now have questions.

My car won't start. Called the recovery service. They're being d!cks. The Garage I get my MOT from isn't answering the phone.
FMAL.

I spent a lot of my childhood being asked if I was born in a barn. Now the people who kept saying that mock me for shutting doors, and themselves leave every door they pass through open or ajar.
I wonder if I can operant condition them to shut the damned doors.

"Verifying you are human. This may take a few seconds."
I didn't do anything. I didn't interact at all. How are you verifying I'm human?

Just heard someone pronounce cuttlefish as cuddlefish.
It's weird but not entirely objectionable.

Sometimes the silence between answers tells more than the questions ever could.

The people at the retinopathy screening office need to buy a new chart. I've been seeing that one since the late 1980s.

The spider's back. After yesterday's detente I don't feel like breaking it this morning would be appropriate.
October 17, 2025 at 6:20 AM
There was a spider lurking. One of the really fat bodied, short legged types. I thought living and let live was the best policy.
I've lost track of them. I wish them well and hope they find their way outside, soon.

My neighbour does not have a cat. The cat that has decided my neighbour's house is their property was sat on my drive when I got home. I attempted to reverse onto the drive and the cat wasn't interested in moving. They gave me the evils and was unaware of the size difference.

There are actors I see in a series who are great. But if I never see anything they’re in again it wouldn’t bother me. Then there are some who I’m interested in their future projects. The former list is far longer.

When your narrator says King Charles II as: "King Charles eye eye" I'm going to suspect that the narrator and possibly the script have been done by AI.

Modern TV and film criticism: "This episode/movie was bad." Okay. Why? "I didn't get the conclusion I wanted." Okay. Was the acting bad? "The acting was good." Was there a lack of emotional pay off? "There was emotional pay off." Okay, why was it bad? "I didn't get the conclusion I wanted." Okay. 🤦‍♂️

I’ve unfollowed and removed a fair number of people over the last 24 hours because of some really bad takes.

There was someone who disappeared off a channel I watched because alleged reasons.
They took a producer with them and set up a new channel. Now there are a lot of recurrent characters from the original channel still showing up. Those people feel a little, not people I want to watch anymore.

Had a weird dream last night. Dreamt I was walking down the road from the railway station into town and the path was narrow and swarmed with spiders, Raiders of the Lost Ark opening like. Startled awake and it felt like something touching my back. I was about to go Connery in Dr No on the bed.

My pump infusion site disconnected some time in the night. I woke up when the sensor alarm went off. Three hours later and my mouth still tastes like bath sponge and I've got a high headache right in the middle of my brain.
Anyone got a cure for the mouth taste? Mouthwash and toothpaste don't work.
