Now I know that in the past people in the UK were very much shorter than we are now. This class 170 from cross country trains must be at least 250 yrs old 'cos it's definitely not designed for modern folk.

Another reason why Cross Country are the worst intercity train operator. No legroom on a 170 from Cardiff to Nottingham. Thank goodness I'm only going as far as Newport! Boy is this going to be hideous when it gets crowded later on.

A day out made possible by PAYG on TfW. Train from Newport to Penarth, Coffee stop, walk fron Penarth to Cardiff Bay, Bay to Central and lunch then back to Newport. Transport cost £5.70? Still got lots of the SE of Wales to explore. Thanks @swalesmetroprof.bsky.social !
