Exactly right. A criminal nexus was never part of the operational design of ICE. It was an article of camouflage to hide the true intent: ethnic cleansing.

Instead of protecting America against criminals and foreign operatives dedicated to destroying the nation, the FBI is now indulging in the lurid fantasies of an old, doddering man. What an embarrassment this must be for the agents who still care about their job.

Chinese, Russian and Iranian operatives will poison the soil with disinformation, deep fakes, forged documents and so forth while they also plant malware at an industrial scale and undertake sabotage because they know the CIA and FBI are chasing a fantasy.

The judge is wrong. ICE is a law unto itself, and his failure to order the arrest of Lyons for contempt of court proves it. U.S..judges are versions of Susan Collins in judicial robes. They wrote strongly worded decisions but did nothing, nothing at all, to animate the lawn with physical action.

Bessent has it backwards, which seems to be common in the Trump administration. The country is deeply in debt, has to borrow to service the debt, and that has a private investment sector awash in irrational risk in the hope that AI data centers/chips will pay off, which is highly unlikely.

Waltz is ignorant AF. For one, he's mistaking Greenland for rural America where hospitals are closing and even basic health care is hard to find. A new cancer care center opened this month in Greenland. And as noted, cancer patients are sent to Denmark at no cost to them.
