Christmas came early for me and I completed on a trade 5 years in the making for very rare 1970s Fantasia sunburst 4000 fibre optic lamp. Unlike the cheap plastic versions, this one has a spray of thousands of fine glass fibres, and it’s in immaculate condition.

Made some mince pies yesterday, first ones I’ve ever made in my life and they were delish. I put a little coin of marzipan in the base of each one. Still got loads of pastry dough, so thinking of what other culinary delights I can make 😆

For the first time, in as long as I can remember I’m feeling really Christmassy. I’ve made minces, quince jelly, Membrillo and started on my Christmas presents. To top it off, I’ve bought these wax melts from Sainsbury’s so my house smells festive too 😊

I’ve been nurturing this plot of Cyclamen hederifolium since I moved in 20 years ago. Sadly, the tree they’re under is coming down in a few weeks as it’s dying so they’re all going to get trampled. I’m really hoping they don’t come to any harm.

Other half is finally over his Covid infection so hopefully my mum can Join us towards the end of the week (she was supposed to be with us from the start, but had to cancel due to COPD).

Made a couple of pumpkin pies yesterday. No one in my family likes it, so I get to freeze portions for me to enjoy over the winter 😁

Did a runnings earlier, so figured it was totally justifiable to finish off an entire bottle of wine. Which, by the way is total shite, but I hate to waste ‘food’ so….
Also just watching Alien earth and it really isn’t getting any better.

Like I’m back on a roll. Slight twinge from tennis elbow last week, yet I think I’ve pinpointed the exercise that was causing the issue and have modified accordingly… fingers crossed I’m able to continue.
