Note: I was too busy checking the way ahead to admire the gleaming spires. Nearly tipped my dad out twice because of ruts and slopes in pavement.

Oxford mass of people felt 'a bit weird'. It's a weird mix of poverty , privilege, intellect and tradition.

'Beggar' (politically incorrect word, no doubt) with sign saying "I'm hungry," on every street. No different from other UK cities.

Lots of students, obviously. State school tended towards the grunge/ heavy metal t-shirt variety. Posh ones dressed lije their parents in expensive casual wear.

Very busy town centre. The main shopping area is no better than, say, Poole. OK, nice old buildings again.

It's not the most wheelchair friendly place! I mean, old cobbles and flagstones are fine, but old for old sake isn't.
