I believe the wording is due to the fact that “Ram truck hits three people” doesn’t make an allegation against any individual, it’s stating the fact that a certain (large, powerful, motorized) object hit three people.

I believe you are confusing the people who work at meatpacking plants with the ranchers who raise cattle. (Not all the ranchers, maybe, but too many.)

I don’t think we really have to debate the scale of the crimes. To send one human being to be tortured in another nation’s rental torture facility is already an offense evil enough to deserve the most severe punishment. The scale can shock the conscience, to be sure.

True, but I don’t think it’s quite right to set it up like March Madness and have no byes at all. There should be a chase for those very top seeds, and not just to have a weaker opponent.
