I guess at least that tweet is more upfront than the Konstantin Kisin “look I’m just an ordinary centrist voter who’d love the BBC if only it wouldn’t x, y, z” weird dance

I think my household is just slightly outside top decile and still we claim child benefit. These people are ludicrous

The notebook LM duo would be yes and-ing this all the way to a Nobel Prize however

I mean yes I could but it's not a good use of this time as you just sit there and I've got a lecture in ten minutes

The other week I just had to say "no" to a "can you read this [8 pages] quickly and let me know if it makes sense?"

'If both sides are criticising me, I must be doing something right,' I warble, as I run babytalk opinion on the BBC News website.

Oh I see the point of the hygienist for sure, but wouldn't/couldn't they catch the really dangerous stuff that the dentist is I guess looking for? I guess this is like asking what's the point of insurance in that it's never useful until it's very useful

He's smashing an extra takeaway a year with the freed up cash whilst I'm waiting for the two hours to pass post hygienist hungry like a mug

I remember chatting to one dad at a kids party about this and he conspiratorially just whispered that "I don't go to the dentist anymore. I stopped. I've not told anyone. Not even my wife." And I couldn't decide if this guy was James Bond or completely pathetic. I mean I'd lean b) but also I get it.

I don't think I've quite got it straight in my mind why I go to the dentist *and* the hygienist. Doesn't b kind of cover a? At least enough? Or in my mind? I guess not

Nice window (as is the vets) into privatised medicine mind

There's also a parent tax element here. I mean I am getting a service and I think they do it well but I also absolutely would not go if I didn't have to apply pressure for other smaller people to go to the dentist.

I also think it's a bit of an industry where they'll absolutely gouge you once they sense weakness but here we are.

Ha! This is a great point

You can see the management gears turning here in the promotion of #joinedupthinking, but really this is all trying to solve a "you" problem rather than providing the best way for students to learn which, for all we can talk of scaffolding AI blah blah blah, really starts and ends with their brains

“And that’s why Konstantin and Francis at Triggernometry, Louis Theroux but for every right wing take Andrew Gold, and the maybe even weirder Mumford and Sons guy, we need to move away from echo chambers!”
