I forgot who said it first, but the total eclipse of the sun is such an incredibly unusual phenomenon in the universe that if there were aliens with advanced tech it would be a tourist attraction to them, so they would be regular obvious visitors

Listening right now to an interview with Al Carns (MoD minister). The UK is too involved in Ukraine for them to capitulate. For example, the UK donated ALL of its self-propelled guns to Ukraine and the replacement won't be delivered until 2029. We have seriously impaired artillery

I've always used my patient choice (with a LTC of 50 years) to only see clinicians who tell me what is best for me on their opinion. It saves a helluva lot of time compared to being given "treatment options"

Not with me. Now ask ne again about my fascination with early 20th century GPO junction boxes, but get yourself a drink and some nibbles because I may be some time

Bare minimum shit? Seriously you do not understand how complex the NHS is, or how difficult it is to get those millions of extra appointments. If it was so easy, why did the Tories fail consistently over 14 years?

The leadership pledges are his. The manifesto are the party's pledges. He has to keep to the manifesto.

Did anti nuclear Corbyn go into the 2019 election promising nuclear disarming? No. Same principle, party is pro nuclear

But the power of Parliament is that they can give such power to the PM without judicial review. I bet it's on Nigels list for the first year in govt. Reform want the UK to be run by execution order, like the US

"intellectual ckasses"? So why is it working class areas who are voting Reform?

I hope European leaders have the backbone to tell Zelenskyy "say no, we are with you"

(The UK recently signed a 99 year military pact with Ukraine, for example)

Eh? Thank god no NHS doctor has ever considered the "economic trade offs" when treating me.

Next appointment will be to see if IVig (at £180k per year) is CLINICALLY effective for me

I was reflecting on the PPE stockpile levels as mentioned in the covid report today: no government gets accolades for keeping the stockpiles full of in-date items, but they do for cutting the deficit by not replenishing them. Sad but true
