Political refugee from the cesspit formerly known as Twitter; clinical psychology professor; husband of lovely Sam; dad of two amazing kids and two wonderful stepkids; radicalized by the idiocy of Brexit. Obviously, my views are not those of my employer.
Farage is spectacularly dishonest.

Brexit was bound to lead to more regulations for SMEs, especially those exporting, because leaving the SM required our neighbours to impose them (it was what Brexiters voted for and there was nothing the UK could have done to prevent it).

I am now 69 years old or, as I prefer to say, 21 years raised to the power of 1.4. To celebrate surviving so long, I had a fabulous birthday meal with my wonderful wife and kids last night. My son Fin even arranged for a special menu!

Theory:

Trump’s frontal cortex has completely atrophied. He’s got no editor so just says whatever crazy shit comes to mind (bleach for Covid, tariffs, Greenland, Gaza). Then his cult have to pretend it’s a coherent plan, and then his minions have to find a way of walking back.

FFS It's obvious that we're going to end up back in the single market and customs union. It's the only realistic way to eliminate trade barriers with our neighbours. We should just get on with it instead of pissing around pretending that we don't want to for the next 10 yrs.

I wonder how many G7 countries have this as a target they're aiming for.

My hunch is that the answer is 7.

8/9 We have a FPTP system which a clear majority think is a major cause of our ills, preventing new political voices from emerging. A PR bill was just passed by Parliament but the Labour leadership has ruled our electoral reform. Utter insanity.

1/9 Been reading about Starmer's speech. I'm fed up with politicians constantly announcing 5-year plans with goals that are never achieved. It didn't work for Stalin, it didn't work for Sunak and it won't work for Starmer, particularly when he refuses to be honest about the causes of our decline.

2/6 First, a US FTA is unlikely to be fair given Trump's previous insistence that all trade deals must reduce the US trade deficit, and also:

16/19 Second, we need to STOP BEING FRIGHTENED OF THE CHIEF CUNT AND HIS GRIFTER MATES. In the USA we are seeing that it's possible to stand up to cunts. He is an imaginary monster with no actual power over us. Mock him and above all tell him.....

15/19 So what practical steps can we do right now?
First, we just need to TALK about, and keep on talking about, how much Brexit is a disaster. Stop being embarrassed about it. Just keep stating this obvious truth as often and openly as we can.

11/19 And yet, underneath this, polling says that a clear majority wants to rejoin the EU, especially the young (who had no responsibility for causing it), and my guess is that even many of those who say no to rejoin would make a sigh of relief if we did.

0/19 And then, to top it all, everyone seems to frightened of this cunt, the self-serving narcissist who did more to create this mess than anyone else. Even banks seem to be frightened of him.

2/19 In the clinic, for example when dealing with people with addictions, obesity, or chronic personality disorders, we see people progress through stages of change.

I was late to @chrisgreybrexit this week and read it while halfway through @mrjamesob's new book. Both are blood-boiling accounts of how Brexit created a government that was mendacious, corrupt, and utterly incompetent to deal with all subsequent crises.chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.com
