Though a man of science I do have a tendency to emotionally imbue inanimate objects with feelings of their own - a soul perhaps. I know it's complete and absolute nonsense but it does, occasionally, cause me a little mental dissonance.

I love my 'Love in a Mist' plants though they've gone a bit crazy this year because I lazily left them to seed last year (which they do all to readily).

Walking past the cherry tree (round the corner) I picked up a twig that had broken off. I planted it and now comes out in blossoms in the spring and makes me happy... no cherries yet though (like its parent has).
