I know I'm not trans, and therefore I don't know if this is my place. But I'd like to try to help.

You got surgery to address chronic TMJ. Specifically a modified condylotomy.

They had to go in and cut the mandibular condyle to create more room and relieve pressure for your TMJ.

This is sick. An employee at Publix committed suicide in the FAMILY RESTROOM and they didn't close. They didn't let the employees have time off. No grief counseling was offered.

Corporate greed is truly sickening. Events occurred on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 2pm. For privacy reasons, I will not be disclosing all names or the store number. A Publix associate lost his life by a self inflicted gunshot wound in the family restroom of our store. It was a devastating day, but what made things so much worse for the already grieving associates was how it was handled by the district manager and everyone above. This has nothing to do with our immediate store manager and department managers. I'm not sure if the DM was calling all the shots here, or if she was just relaying information from Corporate, but there was every intention of reopening this store as soon as the cleanup crew finished. No sympathy for the victim or the associates who lost a friend, a loved one, a coworker. We were so devastated by this loss, but we were not allowed to leave, even after the body was removed and all the police were gone. This event was genuinely traumatizing for some, heartbreaking for most. LET ME SAY THIS AGAIN: We were not allowed to go home, because there were plans to reopen the store. Reopen the store after we lost an associate. We were forced to level and face all the items on the shelves, BECAUSE WE HAD TO STAY IN CASE WE WERE OPENING AGAIN It felt as if they just didn't care about the victim or about us. It seems all they cared about was "the store was closed for too long today, we need to make more money" ". I was the one taking phone calls, because everyone in town was obviously worried and curious. I told every customer "We are closed for the rest of the everyone in town was obviously worried and curious. I told every customer "We are closed for the rest of the2 / 2 day, we'll resume normal hours tomorrow". the DM says to me "you shouldn't tell the customers that we're going to be closed all day, because we might not stay closed." That felt so insensitive to me, my coworkers, and the victim. So what did I do? I moved between the cash office and the general office, I answered the calls from there, and told everyone we're closed all day. It got to the point where if we did end up reopening, we were only going to have 5 cs employees(3 css and 2 cashiers), 5 deli, 2 grocery, 1 meat, because everyone else was let out. Not us though, the kept us there for hours while everyone else was able to leave in case we opened... like how do you even operate a store after that? With ONLY 13 grieving employees. The incident happened and ended at these estimated times: a CSS and managers inspected and discovered what happened between 2pm-2:10pm, called 911 at 2:10pm, police arrived at 2:15, body was removed at 5:30pm, police left at 5:45pm, cleanup crew started at 6pm, all remaining associates were let out at 8:45pm (we are a 9pm store). I want to shed some light on this poorly handled situation. This just goes to show how "AWESOME" of a company we really are, and how "Publix is one of the best companies who truly cares about their employees". They did not think twice about us and how this effected the associates and the store/ department managers. We should not have stayed there. As soon as the detectives did their investigation, we should ve been free to go. But no, corporate greed is truly sickening. EDIT: We had a replacement DM, because our actual DM is on vacation. Don't want anyone to look at our real DM and think it was he
