Oh, Hoya!

Epiphyllum ‘Dracula’. Last flower for me as I’m rehoming all my Epi hybrids. They’re beautiful, but take up too much valuable space in the greenhouse during winter.

I removed the flowers on all
My species Sarracenia to encourage stronger pitchers, but left them on the hybrids as they are far more vigorous anyway. They really popped in the evening glow yesterday.

Tropaeolum tricolor, a nice splash of colour in the dull late winter days. Sadly, it’s started going dormant now the days are getting warmer.

My favourite Cyclamen species, C pseudibericum in flower in the greenhouse. It’s proved hardy, but doesn’t flower for me if grown outside. The flowers are a nice size and have a strong honey / rose like fragrance.

Some of last years Sarracenia pitchers are still holding out.

Speaking of which, one of my favourite Hoyas in flower right now is H lockii. It’s shrubby, rather than a climber and the flowers smell of chocolate. Have to be very consistent with watering though because too wet or too dry and the buds blast.

Been buying more plants even though I don’t really have space. 5 more Hoyas to to house somewhere 🤭

Couple of Restrepia orchids flowering on my kitchen windowsill. The stripey one in particular is quite tricky, but with the effort!
