Interesting thread as someone who’s learning Italian and often find translations of words like “parla” (he/she speaks) are translated as “he speaks”. Similar confusion occurs around the polite “you” from which often resembles the he/she form 🤯

When I’m forced to communicate in a new language it’s painful, but this improves memory formation. Trying and failing is key. If I don’t NEED the language to communicate, I don’t learn as much 🧠 As a child, you have to use the little language skills you possess to communicate, so you learn quicker!
