Wha! How can you do that trail without hopping up to the top! So sweet this time of year to see the rolling hills and little streams of chimney smoke

Isn’t this the paper that celebrates Hasbro absconding to Boston? I believe the phrase was ‘undoubtedly a good thing.’ No nuance to how this affects a post industrial city. But great they got soccer games! Until, ala Pawsox, the MA people want that too.

You’re correct the funding formula inexplicably favors demo over reno, but this is contrived by RIDE and is wildly inconsistent w/ the city & state’s zero emission goals. Demos are huge & cancel out the hard work you & others are doing. I expect you to question this formula, not knuckle under to it.

I was a public school teacher for decades and the ‘needs of the students’ is a bunk argument that used to cajole someone else, & it apparently works with this city council quite well. Irritating to see the council express concerns about the takeover, but then take everything RIDE says at face value.

That’s a good spot. Also used to be a real old one nearer to the quarry, all shot up, looked like Bonny and Clyde’s last car. Not sure if that one’s around anymore.

How can you tell the numerous landscapers in the city that they must transition - something they do not want to do - when these demos cancel out the benefit?
September 26, 2025 at 4:07 PM
This would be good, but sadly the City Council is also allowing the demo of several renovatable school buildings. The carbon emissions of these demos are equivalent to all the gas blowers in the city running for years, and is easily the most polluting action taken by the city in decades.

You surprised the Boston paper puts the thumb on the scale for a mayor that represents the Boston aspiration for Providence?

Thanks Phil, glad you’re enjoying!
