Winter Romance Wish Book As winter is hitting us… well those of us in the upper hemisphere… it’s coming to a time where we curl up under a blanket, find something warm to drink, and find something even hotter to read. So to celebrate winter stretching across the land and pulling in the holiday season along with it, Kim Fielding has gathered a selection of authors and asked them to tell us what they think you’d like to have with you on the couch while you sip from your favourite cup and watch the world go by for a little bit.

Tonight's dinner: pork loin and Japanese curry rice. I'm also going to read Back in Black because I think I need to find out where I left Cole.

Tonight's dinner: Chicken Long rice. This is very much a Hawai'i local comfort food and a lot of people have their own recipe. I'm actually going to include the Hawai'i pickled lady and her recipe below because I'm lazy and she's actually very good at giving instructions. The worst part about a laptop deciding to die midstream is the rebuilding of said laptop. After of course it takes a trip to the computer vet to be worked on. Finally got it back up and running, located as many of the files I could, installed software... then had to hunt down Dragonspeak because the download link I had wasn't good.

There's a lot of discussion around the word māhū and usually that discussion comes not from the Hawaiian community but from people who feel like they know what the word means or rather what that personage really embodies. It's a complicated situation in many ways because it was weaponized by people who came in to diminish others in our society and also has been used to hurt people who are not what others considered "heteronormal".

Tonight's dinner is S&S saimin with some stuff I had in the freezer. Because there's been a lot of phone calls and it was quick. Saimin is different Nathan ramen but in the same family.

And I'm reclaiming my brain and routine, it's kind of been an odd long haul where I think; Oh, I've got some things brewing up and I can start writing. And then a few hours later, the shutdown begins again and I'm pushed back a few steps. Some of it is physical. My body has some really shitty days and some not so bad.

Life has been a bit crazy physically but doing better now. How is everything for you guys? What have you been Reading?
