I've found that it's basically a coinflip if the audible groan from a terrible caption is due to either a dad pun or confusion as to why someone would ever say something like that

That being said, while I haven't kept up with the show, it's truly a damn spectacle. ufotable seriously went all out to make sure that the animation was as gorgeous as it could possibly be and deservedly it's gotten so popular due to that in my opinion.

I enjoyed it while reading but frankly got disenchanted once I realized that all of the breathing forms that the humans use are essentially the same thing. None of the special flair with the elements and fire is truly there, they're just used to symbolize what the characters imagine while fighting.
