Finally got buttons sewn onto my Reverb cardigan (pattern by Tanis Lavallée) and just as I took this photo, I realized I’m wearing my Tanis Fiber Arts shirt under it

Finished knitting this sweater right at the beginning of the last heat wave. The weather is finally cool enough to take it out for a spin!

Finally got to start weaving this today and I am quite pleased with myself

Anyway here is a sweater I’m knitting from some stash yarn that I’ve had for 5+ years (madelinetosh sleeves and Hedgehog Fibres body, pattern by Tanis Fiber Arts)
A sweater is being knitted. There is a circular needle in the bottom edge as it is currently being knit downwards. (I say “currently” because I started with provisional cast-ons beneath the armhole shaping and knit all the pieces upwards from there and then joined them before picking up the stitches to knit downward in the round. But I digress.) The sweater has a lightly coloured body with speckles of many colours. The background colour shifts from an almost-imperceptible yellow at the top to a pastel orange below the arms. It has just begun to move into a pastel pink before the knitter has paused. The sleeves and collar are of a different contrasting yarn, composed of a greyed out rainbow of colour with black speckles heavily throughout. The bulk of the sleeves has yet to be knitted.

Singing “just bead it bead it bead it” as I add each tiny bead to the delicate lace shawl I’m knitting
A bright pink lace shawl sits on a wooden table, bunched up to disguise the pattern somewhat. The shawl is for a MKAL, ok? I can’t really show you yet. Anyway there are beads all over the shawl in a very close shade of pink that gives a super cool monochromatic feel to it all. It’ll be great. Trust me.

Finished a gauge swatch last night and casting on today! I decided to double strand some yarns from my stash rather than indulging in my fantasy of buying an armload of TFA’s in-stock and taunting me yarn. The fabric is so light and soft, I am very excited about how this is going to turn out
After making several attempts at capturing the colours and textures accurately, I present to you a smallish knitted gauge swatch, perhaps regrettably small (time will tell.) There are two fingering weight yarns held double throughout, a beautiful pink speckled wool/cashmere/silk single from TFA and a pure alpaca in a sweet bunny brown. The swatch is knitted in fisherman’s rib with a garter stitch border and the combination of yarns makes a pleasing springtimey marl and a fuzzy light soft fabric.

Does anybody remember Lafayette from HBO’s True Blood? Of course we all do. He had a crocheted granny square afghan on his sofa, multicoloured but with a black border. This is the vibe the sweater pictured is meant to evoke. It has 9 crocheted granny squares in a block on the front of the pullover, joined with black yarn between and then the rest of a black sweater knit around it. The photo is a close up of the pullover, showing off the bright colours but not including the wearer’s face.

Finished a quilt top yesterday while everyone was distracted by the sports. This is the Homecoming pattern from Lo & Behold, in the baby quilt size. I shamelessly stole the colour palette from one of the sample quilts in her pattern

So I finally got around to machine washing and drying this bath towel I wove, and the plain weave has developed a bunch of diagonal lines as though it was a twill design. I’ve used the same yarn for warp and weft. Anyone out there have any ideas why this happens?
