You are warned that you are risking Bluesky's standing with the federal government. They have been notiied and now you are.
Hey @safety.bsky.app - there's a documented bug where moderation settings reset to defaults. Users set "Rude" to WARN, but content gets hidden anyway. This is affecting visibility for accounts with the rude label.

then secretly suppressed my visibility while claiming it's a bug. That's institutional capture masquerading as community safety."

So when I file this complaint with the FTC on Black Friday, I'm not complaining about being criticized. I'm documenting that Bluesky built a moderation system that enforces ideological conformity, marked me for challenging that ideology,

This is institutional capture. A platform built a moderation system around progressive activist values. It then enforces ideological conformity by marking accounts that challenge that ideology—even when those challenges come from the left.
November 20, 2025 at 3:25 PM
So the "bug" that suppresses my visibility isn't accidental. It's the system working as designed: protecting accounts that align with the moderation team's political commitments while silencing criticism of them.
That's what the FTC needs to know.
November 20, 2025 at 3:25 PM
When I criticized within that framework, the system treated me as the problem—not the accounts spreading authoritarian ideology under a progressive banner.
November 20, 2025 at 3:25 PM
That's not coincidence. The moderation system is ideologically aligned with that activist ecosystem. The accounts doing the reporting share the same political framework as Bluesky's moderation team.
November 20, 2025 at 3:25 PM
Someone reported me. Bluesky marked me rude.
November 20, 2025 at 3:25 PM
The actual reason I got marked "Rude": I called out an account amplifying anarchist/pro-Hamas rhetoric while characterizing AOC as a genocide collaborator. I identified it as a Nazi asset strategy—instrumentalizing Palestinian liberation to mask authoritarianism.

This is systematic. The "bug" conveniently aligns with their automated rude detection rollout. Users can't opt out. Settings reset. Visibility suppresses.
If you've been affected, reply with your handle + when engagement dropped. We need to establish the pattern for regulatory filing.

FOR FTC COMPLAINT: If Bluesky reset your moderation preferences WITHOUT NOTIFICATION and you experienced reduced visibility as a result—that's potentially deceptive practice under FTC guidelines.

Go to Settings > Moderation
Screenshot your current settings
Check if they match what you set last time
Report to me with screenshots showing the mismatch

If you have an account marked Rude and you've set your moderation to WARN (not HIDE), but your posts are still getting suppressed—that's the bug.
Here's what you should do:
November 20, 2025 at 3:13 PM
Bluesky issue #5361 documents this. Settings revert without user action. If you've customized your moderation preferences and they keep resetting, you're experiencing this bug.

Are they appealing this?
