I would have been about that age the first time my parents took me to an orchestral concert - a Rachmaninov piano concerto and a Martinu symphony. Lifelong love of classical music created right there.

I wouldn't worry too much about the programme. The experience is what counts.

And an exposition heavy episode 1 where nothing really happens, and there’s a lot of narrative vamping has always been how he writes two-part finales.

Sitting in a German class, aged 14, when the door burst open, one of the Art teachers ran in and exclaimed, “She’s gone!”

And, without further explanation, everybody in the room knew exactly what she meant. And, being the west of Scotland, cheered.
