The “ham sandwich” trope exists because prosecutors know they need to get past the grand jury to get to trial. As a result, they don’t bring any cases to a grand jury that won’t pass. Otherwise it’s a waste of time. Only a dope brings a case to grand jury that won’t pass.

Agreed. It’s just gambling. Like with sports betting or the stock market, there’s always some way someone will work to defraud the game (e.g., insider trading) but if the predictions are well-stated, it’s not much different.

Grunt work is, by definition, boring and tedious, but in many fields, that’s how you learn. At the moment, those of us who have done it can tell when AI gets it wrong. If you never do the work, you never learn, and can’t tell when AI is wrong.

The bigger risk is students who never learn how research a topic or write original text and young employees who have no “grunt work” to do to teach them how to do higher level tasks.
