16. The Last of Us. The TV adaptation was the first time I felt that everyone involved actually cared about what they were doing with a story that came from a video game. Also, the cold opening from the first episode is excellent.

15. Chicago Fire. And now for something completely different. I watched this whole show with family over the course of several weeks when I was on FMLA a couple years a ago. Sometimes I do love an entertaining procedural.

14. Vision of Escaflowne. Speaking of Yoko Kanno, this show has yet another amazing soundtrack that she partially composed. The anime itself hit so many fantasy tropes PLUS it had giant robots. It was just so satisfying all around. (Haven't seen the movie so I'm only referring to the TV show.)

13. Cowboy Bebop. I owned and loved the soundtrack (Yoko Kanno is outstanding) before I ever finished watching the show many years later. I also love the show.

12. White Collar. This was my favorite of the "Blue Sky USA shows" from the 2000s to 2010s. I do miss that era of TV.

11. Ashes to Ashes. I was more drawn to this show over its predecessor, Life on Mars. Part of it wa having actual memories of life in the 80s, so that was more relatable. Also Keeley Hawes is amazing.

10. The X-Files. This is one TV show I saw from day one. Some of you may already know that I was treasurer of the X-Files club in high school.

9. Ted Lasso. Mainlined this one last year when I got a free trial subscription to Apple TV+. Sometimes it's nice to watch a show with relatively low stakes and high emotional rewards.

8. The Tomorrow People (1992-1995). I've seen bits of the original 70s version and the 2013 remake, but this version is the one of my heart. Featuring teenagers with psychic powers, clunky writing, and even clunkier acting, I still adored it. Pluses: Christopher Lee and a young Naomie Harris!

7. Star Wars: The Bad Batch. I did not expect this show to become one of my favorite entries in Star Wars universe, but its themes of found family and redemption drew me in.

6. Square One Television. It was an educational kids show about math on PBS in the 1980s. My favorite segments were Mathman (a take on Pac-Man) and Mathnet (a math take on Dragnet). I really did like math as a kid.

5. Farscape. Yet another show I sorta saw at the start but didn't get into. I finally mainlined the whole show right before the Peacekeeper Wars miniseries in 2004. It was the fandom for this show that got me started on vidding in 2006.

4. (Forgot to number.) Robotech. It's an 85 epsode American adaptation of 3 separate anime from the early 80s, put together to meet the 65 ep minimum for syndication. Sorta watched it with my sibs as it aired but didn't get into it until it re-aired on Sci-Fi in the 90s. Read all the books too.

Fringe. Didn't get into this one right away (sensing a theme here). Saw an ep at Wondercon 2010 with @kuwdora.bsky.social. While it was enjoyable, I still didn't really get into it. I mainlined it in 2011 because I bought PaleyFest tix while living in LA, and I FINALLY got into it then.

Highlander: The Series. I started watching this show from Season 3 onward as it aired. This was one of my first online fandoms, though I mostly lurked on forums and mailing lists. Some of the first fanfic I read was for this show. (HLFIC-L!)

Star Trek: The Next Generation. I started watching this show during Season 4 as it first aired. A show of firsts for me: one of my first fandoms, first fannish convention was for TNG, & at that con was the first time I saw a fanvid (Q character vid set to "It Had to be You" by Harry Connick, Jr").
