I tried to prepare my fellow psychiatrists how to respond when ICE invades our Hospital. I was labeled as “paranoid” and to “stop with the political talk”. It is going to be a disaster! Hospital security and a few macho ER doctors will stand against ICE entering a “protected area”. Yikes!!!

I feel like I was transported back to 1934 Berlin and I am trying to convince the populace what awaits them. Instead I’m silenced by future victims because I’m catalyzing unnecessary anxiety. Eventually, frustration and anger sets in and I just leave for my own safety.

Taha, not necessarily betrayed but the Country is no longer aligned with my morals and ethics which are the sum of my upbringing and experiences. Will i fight for my morals? Not at this point in my life when my priorities have narrowed to myself and family in my twilight. I’ll just move away.

I had a talk with my family to prep them for what’s coming. Treat everyone as if they are your best friend. Be careful what you post. Get your information to coincide if you were to be interrogated. In 2017, they had me in tears and I told them everything I knew. I was not prepared.

Hyenas have an inborn instinct and skill to create chaos and panic within a herd of wildebeest that serve as prey. Question: Where is General Mike Flynn and his army of Militia armed with weapons such as AR 15 pistols as, we, the unwary populace go about our daily lives like a herd of wildebeest?

As a psychiatrist I am scared. Our numbers are small. On the “verge of extinction” by some repots. We possess a certain vulnerability but a powerful insight into the darkest corners of humanity. Like journalists we are feared by malignant narcissists and labeled as “an enemy within”.

We have achieved a heightened morality, kindness, and insight in our unique ways. This must be preserved in the face of criticism from those around us who may lack the insight. My rabbi tells me “you worry too much”; my friends say “you’re being paranoid”and my family “you’re scaring us”.

Interesting how physicians vote. infectious Disease understands that vaccination is a Must especially as all those childhood diseases become a distant memory to be exploited as fiction; the Pediatrician has compassion; the Psychiatrist can see through to the underlying deceit and malice.

None of my family or friends will heed my warning instead labeling me an “eternal pessimist” or an “alarmist”. The day I am committed to a Psych Hospital with “Trump Derangement Syndrome”; those same loved ones will say “I’m truly sorry. I see now you were right”. So where does that leave me?

Is it selfish to set a Moral Bar to leave the US? I watched “We Were the Lucky Ones”, and my thought was why didn’t you leave Germany. Indifference, Denial, Stubbornness, Blind Patriotism for a Country that hates you?

We are visiting my 29 y/o son who is an environmental engineer. He is indifferent to politics/history. His friends are Chinese of uncertain citizenship. He has never heard of US vs Wong Kim Ark. My wife says don’t talk politics. A parent’s duty to protect their children never ends. I feel powerless.

Further in the future, if Judge James Ho of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ever makes it to the Supreme Court, most ever principle of our Constitution that I hold dear will be wiped out.

Actions speak louder than words for my set threshold. Once the Military is turned against our People I must leave. My fear is Illinois. Governor Pritzker will bravely resist Trump’s deportation mandates and any intrusion by the Military. There lies the flashpoint.

As a retired Federal Employee, serving 20 years as a Forensic Psychiatrist with the BOP, and having the upmost loyalty to our Constitution and Bill of Rights; I have my threshold for leaving the United States when it no longer becomes the Country that I have pledged to defend.
