What this doesn’t say - and it’s important- that managing all this for older people often (not always) falls to women. And privacy and data rules also make this very difficult (for good reason)

Yes we team teach most large lecture modules; it works very well but requires good communication and organisation. I actually enjoy the many conversations we have about the material, how to teach and how to assess. It’s a rare moment of collective effort in a hyper individualised model of work

But nice people don’t make enough noise. Racist commentary is now endemic and more effort needs to be made to combat it. It’s vile and horrible and dangerous

And the comments on social media are horrific. The things people feel entitled to say are so awful. Racism is embedded and rampant

Just that Connolly seemed to have a wide ranging set of connections with people - I’m not necessarily saying how genuine they are - which seemed to me to fit her well for the role. HH seems like a more private person who might not enjoy the gladhanding that much
