I agree with your take.
But I also think, as a league, you should consider both.
Keep old rivalries like RF/Galaxy or Vienna/Tirol and develop new ones. Especially between franchises from different countries to be more European / international. Both will bring you the much needed buzz and money.

the stadium was packed and the old rivalry is a good marketing tool for the league to gather interest.

From an overall point of view, it looks more competitive and more balanced.
With an eye on Rhein Fire,
I'm surprised that the league won't schedule Galaxy vs. Fire. For me, it's a no brainer. Although it hasn't been really competitive since year two,

On the first glance, the East is a walk in the park for the Vikings. It will be interesting whether the other teams step up and which inter division games the Vikings will have to play.
I really hope the Lions and Enthroners will step up.

I like the West and the South divisions.
They could really be competitive and fun to watch on a weekly basis. West maybe minus Cologne.
