I'm not sure - certainly seems like it could be possible, though. I know waterfowl were seen as an isolated "bright spot" when the big "three billion birds" paper was published but have since started to decline as well.

I'm pretty frank with people that if I were the main breadwinner for my family, or couldn't be on a spouse's job's health insurance, I absolutely would/could not be a freelance writer. It works great as a part-time gig while also being a sort-of stay-at-home parent, but that's about it.

21, I think? His school is dealing with declining enrollment, though - they recently dropped down from four kindergarten classes to three because they didn't have enough incoming students to justify four.
