Started committing crimes at work by setting my IDE font to Comic Sans and forcing my coworkers to stare at it during code reviews

One of the most frustrating parts of modern technology is the forced adoption shitty (as in enshittification) features

If you make a feature that is non-functional, invasive, or especially predatory, I should have the option to opt out of that feature completely — no questions asked

When you're overstimulated, it's not just about how much sensory input, it's about what kind input

When I'm overstimulated, songs with lyrics are too much, but music without lyrics (e.g. soundtracks or environmental ambient) can actually help me regulate

I'm only 11m into the 1st episode of "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" and it's without a doubt the most accurate depiction of autism I've seen on TV

As someone's who autistic, I think it does a really good job of showing autism from the perspective of the autistic person themself

#rustlang hot take: We should rename .unwrap() to .or_panic(). (And .expect() to .or_panic_with().) "Unwrap" is a terrible name for the panicking function, especially since we also have things like .unwrap_or() and .unwrap_or_default() which never panic.

One of our software projects at work has gotten so large that we've started writing documentation as Confluence databases so we can use the tabular relations between rows to write composable/reusable docs. I've died and gone to enterprise hell

I strongly recommend checking out if your unit testing library supports test description annotations! Test method names can get really obscure for complex scenarios.

Annotations like JUnit 5's @DisplayName can help improve the readability of your test cases

"science says" <insert the most egregious interpretation of a study here, completely ignoring the body of scientific knowledge the study exists within and the limit of claims we can make based on the specific data gathered in the study>

Just finished my first playthrough of Avowed. Took ~57 hours. Would definitely recommend the game if you enjoy video games as a medium for story telling
