The Youngest announced he was Going To His Bedroom. A parental check occurred and he was discovered to be Reading A Book for Bedtime.

The book in question - P.W. Singer’s “Wired for War” - and honestly, good for him. I haven’t even started it yet.

I found this equation on the back and I get that 19-19=0 and that its been 20 years since my last nutrition class (which was for dairy cows - not humans) but I *still* don’t think that “grams Carbs minus grams of fiber” allows you to say you have net zero Carbs.
I didn’t buy it or the tortillas.

Here’s a picture I took of yellow coral / yellow staghorn (Calocera viscosa) in the Black Forest.
Three distinctly bright-yellow, branching Calocera viscosa fungi grow upward from a damp and moss covered forest path. In the background there is a moss covered tree stump. And more moss covered trees stand in the background.

Continued scenes along the Wanderweg. 16+ km.

The Youngest requested family game time with me, then picked Uno NO MERCY. He demolished me in the first game, then stated he was going easy on me - then played three +10 cards followed by a +6 card - which triggered the “mercy” rule (any player with 25+ cards in their hand).
A fun game. A good kid.

It was a cool, sometimes sunny, sometimes raining wildly, and finally windy day. So soup was made.

Someone - and I’m not naming any names here - ate chicken that was left out on the table.

Someone - still not naming names - is incredibly, horrendously gassy, very uncomfortable, laying on the floor, and not at all his normal obnoxious Labrador self.

So yeah, I’m a little worried.

Contemplating shiny new projects

Um, I’ll just be hanging out over here contemplating the North Sea.

The water is moving steadily inshore with low waves and no crest. In the distance is a green tree covered island with a similarly rocky shoreline. The sky is blue, light at distant horizon, fading to a darker blue as the sky reaches up. Scattered across the sky are various clouds, moving at speed across the sky. There’s a very steady breeze blowing onto shore, though that’s not really captured in a photograph. The sun is shining. I’m contemplating buying a wind breaker, anorak, or another puffy vest (all of which I don’t need, but since I left at home…). It’s a beautiful day.
