All together now: we are lucky to have him. 😉
A defender gets injured. Loads of fans stress over Joe Gomez “not being good enough.” Gomez then reminds us he was one half of our league-winning defense, while playing any position in the back four. We all then say how lucky we are to have him.
Rinse and repeat.

But objectively worse players from the Brazilian Serie A, LigaMx, Qatar Stars League, Saudi Pro League, AND the UAE Pro League somehow were.
What a sad joke.

I’m not having any of this “Who are United losing to” talk. Bodø/Glimt are defending champions. Manchester United aren’t even in the top half of the Premier League. They’ve been lucky to be—on average—England’s 5th best side since Ferguson retired.

Get on this.

1. Mo is obviously world class. The club should absolutely re-sign him. Beyond his goals and assists, he is almost always available (he’s missed just 30 games in 7 campaigns!), the intangibles he offers to the club & squad probably can't be measured, and he means so much to us.

Days like this, I tend to think that a result like today's could have been the sort of slip-up referenced here. Two points dropped, and one point gained through luck and individual moments of excellence. A great team wins, though. 2019-20 had many such wins.

... Because Alisson, Jota, and Trent obviously don't count.
What is this? Compensating for predicting we'd finish 3rd-4th?
