For anyone curious, here's a comparison of our fixtures thus far with their 2023-34 equivalents. As last year’s first promoted side to host us, Luton away was used as the equivalent for this year’s Ipswich away.

2024-25: 31 pts (2.58 PPG, 98-point form)
2023-24: 27 pts (2.25 PPG, 85-point form)

Please fix this, @support.bsky.team.

Joe Gomez looked every bit the center-back you would expect from a club making a title charge.

All together now: we are lucky to have him. 😉
An annual Liverpool tradition:

A defender gets injured. Loads of fans stress over Joe Gomez “not being good enough.” Gomez then reminds us he was one half of our league-winning defense, while playing any position in the back four. We all then say how lucky we are to have him.

Rinse and repeat.

What a start! What a linkup! It’s been coming for a while, and what a deserved goal that was. Complete dominance on and off the ball by us. City have looked so open and—yes—scared. Only way it could’ve been better is if we’d also scored from Virgil’s header.

Not a single Liverpool player was nominated for FIFA’s Best Men XI.

But objectively worse players from the Brazilian Serie A, LigaMx, Qatar Stars League, Saudi Pro League, AND the UAE Pro League somehow were.

What a sad joke.

Forget tribalism for a second.

I’m not having any of this “Who are United losing to” talk. Bodø/Glimt are defending champions. Manchester United aren’t even in the top half of the Premier League. They’ve been lucky to be—on average—England’s 5th best side since Ferguson retired.

The fucking gall people like Elon Musk had, to make immigrants the focus of rising housing costs rather than housing becoming an investment vehicle even in the most economically depressed areas.

I… don’t buy that. I’m not even making light of the situation, but that looks like either the results of a scuffle or self-harm.

I don’t presume any referee is bent (I distinguish this from unconscious or regional biases) because I think presumption of innocence is important, but I nonetheless laugh at the incredulity our outrage expressed about the possibility that English refs might be corrupt given that English people …

I’m genuinely not sure whether City failing to win AGAIN—now six games without a win in all comps—is a good thing or a bad thing for us come Sunday.

Salah has done Trent a solid btw. Now everyone is talking about him and his contract negotiations in the build up to the Madrid game instead of peddling all the obvious Trent/Madrid low hanging fruit.

Selfish indeed.

Two things on Salah:

1. Mo is obviously world class. The club should absolutely re-sign him. Beyond his goals and assists, he is almost always available (he’s missed just 30 games in 7 campaigns!), the intangibles he offers to the club & squad probably can't be measured, and he means so much to us.

Stephen makes tons of sense, as always.

Days like this, I tend to think that a result like today's could have been the sort of slip-up referenced here. Two points dropped, and one point gained through luck and individual moments of excellence. A great team wins, though. 2019-20 had many such wins.
Of course, its always good to see that we are in a very good place right now. If nothing else, it gives you some space for the kind of slip-ups that all great teams have. Because if you look at all top teams in top sports, they all drop points in unexpected ways and we can eat a few of those games.

I see the insightful experts on @skysportpl.bsky.social are still going on about how things what be different if #Liverpool had (or will have) injuries in games to come.

... Because Alisson, Jota, and Trent obviously don't count.

What is this? Compensating for predicting we'd finish 3rd-4th?

It's not JUST because Gladiator II has Denzel Washington. It's because his character, Macrinus, historically rose to become emperor, and a black man playing an emperor of Rome *just won't do*.

(Even, if, you know, the actual Macrinus was a North African and almost certainly not a "white European.")
Yes, that’s what they mean. “Woke” means Black to Elon and others like him.
