70 million people died in Word war 2. Comparisons to World War 2 are rarely meaningful. The Rwandan genocide was no less horrifying because more died during the holocaust and 192 dead journalists is no less horrifying whatever the true figure from World War 2.

I think the point people are making is that 192 is a horrendous and inexcusable number and clearly indicative of a desire for the IDF to keep other war crimes out of the public eye.

It shouldn’t need dubious comparisons to other conflicts to make that point.

I always wondered what “Attercop” in the “Old far spider spinning in a tree” song in The Hobbit referred to.

(And to be clear, I defer to your expertise - I’m just intrigued what the current scientific consensus was about the merits of CCS).

CCS is certainly not an excuse to think we can keep the status quo when it comes to emissions and just magic them all away. But CCS technology does surely need some investment for the future?

I always thought that CCS had to be a part (emphasis - a SMALL part) of achieving net zero. Cutting emissions to 10-15% of their peak is very difficult but possible. Those last few percent will be even more challenging and CCS could be the only answer to that.

There’s a roasted tomato sauce that’s simple and very good with spaghetti. Quick enough and no meat (and the lack of meat doesn’t hurt it - the smoky tomato flavour carries the dish without needing much else)
